Since 1879 Jansen Bible Church has stood for what the Bible teaches. The basic message of the Bible is that certain knowledge of eternal life is the privilege of all who simply believe in Jesus the Messiah for it. Those who believe are thereby set free to love God and to serve Him because they love Him. As believers mature, they typically work to see others receive eternal life and then become the people that God wants them to be as well. To summarize, we believe in edification within the church, evangelism around the church, and missions around the world. The Harvest Missions Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, Nov 23-24.
The Sunday School Picnic is scheduled for Sept 22 at Camp Jefferson. The service will begin at 10:30 AM. There will be a Carry-in Dinner after the service and an opportunity to play games (bring your favorites) and swim all afternoon and evening. The Kitchen Committee in charge is: Aubrey, Dominique, Gayle, Nancy, and Sharon.
Awana Leaders: Mark your calendars for the Awana Equip Conference on Tuesday evening, September 17, in Lincoln. More info will follow.

Missionary of the Week: Garrett Schlake Over a month ago I asked Joanna to marry me. She thankfully said yes! Joanna works fulltime with a French ministry called GBU who is partnered with an American student ministry call InterVarsity. A month ago, I was at an introductory training with the GBU in Paris along with newer and older staffers. Most of the staff are French with a handful of Australians, Americans, British, and other nationalities. Our two groups in Tours will continue with Thomas and Heloise taking over next year for the "Geek Group," and a gal name Celine taking over for the normal Navigator group. Both groups will have a staffer from eastern France coaching them who will also make occasional visits. I will be working with Joanna in Toulouse starting in June 2020, but before that GBU wanted me to receive a semester of training with a team in Paris. I am at this moment packing, selling, giving things away or putting things away in storage. I understand this is a lot of change, but I will be sure to contact everyone who supports me directly when back in the States. Please pray for a smooth transition and email/Facebook me if you have questions about this transition!

Sunday, Aug 18, is our Awana Kick-off Pool Party and Supper at Camp Jefferson. Swimming will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM with Registration and Supper from 5:00 - 6:00 PM. J'Nan will buy all the food items for the meal. If you would like to help financially, please give your donations to Kelli H. or J'Nan; checks should be made out to JBC Awana. There will be no Sunday evening service at the church.
